Garden Educators (Volunteers) Roles and Responsibilities

Lead/ Facilitate already prepared Power Point classes for program participants.

  • Lead one hands on activity to highlight topic of the week.
  • Sessions will require you to arrive at 5:15pm to set up and require you to stay till 7:45 pm at the Canastota Public Library in Canastota.
  • This is a volunteer position, and anyone volunteering for CCE Madison must complete a background check and a driver's record check provided by CCE Madison.

Class Schedules

  • Evening sessions for participants are 5:30pm-7:30pm at Canastota Public Library in Canastota
  • Sessions at each location in chronological order
    • April 9th: Planning Your Garden
    • April 16th: Getting Started with Healthy Soil
    • April 23rd: Planting Your Garden
    • April 30th: Caring for Your Growing Garden (part 1)
    • May 7th: Caring for Your Growing Garden (part 2)
    • May 14th: Harvesting and Using Your Bounty and Graduation Potluck
