Setting Up Irrigation in Your Home Garden

  • Tuesday, June 25, 2024, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Teaching Garden Lineup for Summer 2024:

All workshops are free and held in the Teaching Garden (with the Ag Center available in case of rain).

Join us to kick off the 2024 summer series in our Morrisville teaching garden with a deep dive into irrigation! We will talk about all things water, from delivery options to water quality to designing an irrigation system and assessing when and how to water.

Topics covered will include:

  • How to determine how much water your veggies need (we’ll dig into soil types, plant health, and a little bit of water math).
  • How to set up an irrigation system that works for your time and money budgets.
  • Hands on exploration of some of the systems and materials used by commercial growers that might fit well into smaller gardens.
  • Troubleshooting any questions or issues you may have with water access and quality, especially the high alkalinity water much of our region has.
  • And if it’s too wet this summer, we can dig into how you can get rid of water in your gardens!
