DESCRIPTION:Cornell Cooperative Extension's Southwest New York Dairy, Livestock & Field Crops Program (SWNYDLFC) and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County are excited to announce a FREE webinar for agricultural landowners and farmland users scheduled for later this month."Untangling Land Rental Rates, Ag Districts, and Leasing Considerations" will be held on Wednesday, January 29th at 5:30 pm. This is a free webinar hosted by CCE-Broome and presented by SWNYDLFC's Team Leader and Farm Business Management Specialist, Katelyn Walley. Information that will be covered includes:Negotiating, designing, and delivering a land leaseDetermining fair land rental pricesConsidering Ag Value Assessment and Ag Districting implicationsAddressing questions and concerns from participantsThe presenter, Katelyn Walley, has over 10 years of experience working with both farmers and landowners on these complicated topics and will share best management practices that can be implemented for successful rental situations. "Every week I receive multiple phone calls asking about land rental rates, how to lease land, and how to apply for the ag value assessment," says Walley. "This webinar will cover a lot of information in a plain language, easy-to-understand way that'll be less overwhelming than your typical internet search."
